Cybersecurity, Security & Firearms Conventions in Las Vegas

Two very different security crowds meet in Las Vegas. Summer brings the information-security world: Black Hat for corporate security teams and vendors, followed by DEF CON, the hacker community's own gathering. Physical security has ISC West for integrators, dealers and public-safety buyers, and SHOT Show is the firearms, hunting and outdoor trade's closed-to-the-public annual market for dealers, distributors and law-enforcement buyers.

We track 5 security shows in Las Vegas with 5,000 or more attendees; 4 have confirmed dates between Jan 19, 2027 and Aug 5, 2027. The largest on the calendar is SHOT Show 2027, with a published figure of about 53,000 (2026 figure, per its source), followed by ISC West 2027 (~29K) and Black Hat USA 2027 (~23K). DEF CON does not publish attendance, so it counts as zero in our fullness score.

Where they meet: Venetian Expo hosts 2, LVCC hosts 1 and Mandalay Bay hosts 1 of these shows. Shows that span two venues are counted at each.

No single month has more than one security show; they are spread from January to August.

Weeks that fill the city: we rate the week of Jan 18, 2027 (Packed, with SHOT Show 2027) and the week of Apr 5, 2027 (Packed, with ISC West 2027) as Packed or busier. Expect firmer hotel rates and earlier booking for rooms, dining and talent.

Dates not yet announced: CrowdStrike Fal.Con.
